Don't Buy This
Harbor Freight Wheel Chock
I used mine for the first time on Friday to bring the bike back from the mechanic. It switches from a U to a V shape at the front which took my front wheel hostage and wouldn't let go. When we tried to roll the bike out of it, the whole thing started moving with the wheel and would have hit the fender if we hadn't stopped. I had to undo the bolts and tear it apart in order to get the bike out of it. Apparently I got what I paid for. I'm thinking of taking a hammer to it and bending the V into a proper U. |

Are you running a spoke wheel or mag?

Oh!, while I'm thinking about it... use a brass hammer, it won't spark!

How did it do that if it was bolted to the floor?
Still on first cup of coffee here...

You've seen it.

See, that one is not bolted down either. When the straps went on it pulled the front tire further into the wedge that you see there and then wouldn't come out. The gap that you see in the picture between the tire and the front of the chock didn't exist with mine. Letting air out of the tire would have also worked but removing the bolts was quicker and we had to leave for the Scout trip. |

Not to be indelicate here, but if it wasn't bolted down, isn't that kind of like using a pair of pliers on a nut and blaming the pliers when the nut gets rounded off?

If it was bolted down the bike still would have been stuck in it. I had both kids stand on it and push the bike and r) the stand didn't move, and 7. neither did the bike with three of us pushing/pulling. Besides, the official picture shows it in an Avalanche without bolting. |

Been using the same one for about a year now. Never had an issue. I have mine bolted to my Harbor Ft lift table. And I pull bikes into it with straps when I raise the lift. Fat tires, skinny tires, never had an issue.
Of course, mine's bolted to the lift table................

I should have taken a picture, it had the tire pinched in about a half inch on either side. Left a mark even. And no, I'm not drilling my bed.

Oh, and since this review concludes that the tire crunchy-thingy is crap, shouldn't the thread be moved to "Random Crap"????
