Depending on how you hit the curb you could have a ruined rear tire as well if the cord got pinched between the rim and curb.

Makes a guy wanna go out and buy solid rims and forget the spoked ones.

...now, if I could only figure out how to afford it...

Geno, does the shovel have spoke wheels. If so, you can patch that tire and run it on the shovel with a tube the next time it needs a tire.
