Input needed
I've decided that I'm going to purchase another extended warranty for the bike - the first one was well worth it. This time around though, I can get the wheel and tire warranty as well. So, the question is...... what's your opinion on the factory tires? I wasn't going to put new rubber on it yet, but I need the factory Dunlops to get the warranty - what say ye?

Had 15000 on rear tire when it picked up a screw, still had 4/32 tread left, and had 18500 when I picked up a screw on the front ,still had 4/32 tread.Seams like I always have tire trouble about 4/32 ,cause it want cover them under3/32. They don't ride as smooth as Elite 3s but they are free.

I've been happy with the '09 and up FLH platform Dunlop tires. The D407 and D408F
The American elite's are a step up but alas not "factory".

They are fine and well do everything you want them to. The free replacement is well worth the cost

I don't know if the Canukian policy is the same as the ones in the States but worth a call to Jim Palmer at Boardtracker HD in Janesville, WI. He has the lowest price on the Harley policy written by CNA and has a far superior one written by Cornerstone. That's what I went with this time. Less expensive, no deductible and don't void for power upgrades. I've been very pleased.

They've gotten a little stricter about the tire warranty, but they'll end up paying eventually. I somehow get a nail or screw in my tires about every 7,000 miles, and it doesn't take but 3 or 4 times for the warranty to pay for itself.

You did use to work at the Acme screw and nail factory until they sent the jobs offshore didn't you?

Up here, the tire warranty is an extra $500, but a new set of factory skins will set you back over $900, so two flats outta cover it.

Well, unless your "guy" at the shop is a neighbor.......... Do not accidentally get a nail or screw in both tires at the same time. Jus sayin.
