We have a great raffle at NTXMC

We're raffling off a $670 set of Motolights with the latest technology and most advanced LEDs along with two other great prizes.

I would like to present the raffle here on the Doof Clenas forum; but need to contact someone in management to make sure it's an approved raffle per the guidelines and rules first.

I don't know who to go to or how to reach those in charge. 100% of the proceeds of the raffle will be presented to the charity, Motorcops for Kids benefiting The Shriner's Children's Hospitals in Galveston and Houston.

Can someone please let me know if presenting the raffle here is permissible?

Thank you.

Thank you, Billy.

1st place in the raffle is a $670 set of the best Motolights they've ever produced. It includes their multi-LED super-bright update. I'm even thinking about paying the money to update my own Motolight LEDs for the new ones. They're that good. I cannot tell you how many people noticed my motor approaching and didn't pull out because my Motolights caught their eyes; but I'm sure there have to be some. Almost everywhere I go, people comment on how visible the Motolights are . They're very conspicuous to oncoming traffic; partly because of the brightness and partly because of their location about a foot off the pavement.

So a few years ago, I met the Motolight lady. Actually, she owns the company. In recent years, police departments have been outfitting their motors with Motolights to help protect their motor officers. They swear by them. When I told the Motolight lady that we have a major motorcycle skills event every year, she jumped in with both feet. "I want to donate a set of our lights to the cause!"

Last year, we had a paper-ballot raffle. You had to be at the event and you had to be there to win. THIS YEAR, I'm doing it differently. This year, you can buy raffle tickets via PayPal, and you don't have to come to NTXMC to win and get them. I have the Motolights gift certificate right here in front of me. It will go to the lucky first-place winner.

Hey, there are second and 3rd place prizes, too; and they ain't hay! 2nd place is an Amazon Echo that one of our organizers is buying to donate. 3rd place is a new SledSeats seat cover for Harley police motorcycle seats. If you win the seat cover, I'll buy it from you!

How do you enter the raffle? GO HERE! Select how many tickets you want to buy. (I bought a bunch) and click "Buy Now". It'll take you to PayPal for payment.

We have to pay PayPal a little over 3% of the price of the tickets; but after that, 100% will go to Motorcops for Kids benefiting The Shriner's Childrens' Hospitals in Galveston and Houston.
And it's even better than that. Most charity money goes into a general fund that's used for salaries, carpet, furniture, slush funds, and whatnot. But not our charity. 100% of the money goes directly to the care of the children. The Galveston hospital specializes in child burn victims. The Houston hospital specializes in spinal cord defects, loss of limbs, and cleft palate disorders.

So please buy raffle tickets. Even if you have no interest in the prizes, please take the opportunity to use ticket purchases as a donation. We raised $3,500 last year and presented it to the Motorcops for Kids event in front of 2,000 motorcyclists and motorcop squads. We were the largest single contribution outside their annual Motorcops for Kids toy run and ride. This year, I'm hoping to raise $5,000. I want someone to video the giving of the big check this year and will publish it on Youtube if they do. More about the Toy Run and ride later in November. It's a really fun event and the longest motorcycle parade in the state with police escort and road blockages.

The chances of winning the $670 first place prize, the $350 second place prize or the $110 3rd place prize are pretty good! Raffle tickets are not selling as quickly as we'd like.

Tell ya what. If you win the 3rd place prize, I will buy it from you for $100. Take a chance for $10 for a ticket of $25 for 3 tickets and if you win the 3rd place prize, you can consider it sold to me.

C'mon everyone. We want to give a great big check to Motorcops to benefit the Shriner's Children's hospitals in Houston and Galveston. This is the way you can help; and maybe win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prizes. (It would be a longshot for one person to win all three, but entirely possible).

No other obligation is necessary. You will not be pestered by mail or email to continue to contribute. They don't even get your name. But they get your donation, the price of a raffle ticket.

100% of the money donated minus the PayPal fee goes directly to the care of the children.

Thank you very much, those that have already reduced my chances to win by entering the raffle, themselves.

This may be my last call before the drawing Saturday evening at the awards banquet. I really hope that one of us wins 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. The entire raffle thing was my idea and I assured the other NTXMC organizers that it would be a great idea and would generate lots of money. (Especially with the prizes that we've been able to get donated).

So if you haven't purchased raffle tickets yet, please do so.

Help us give a pile of money to the care of the children at the Shriner's Children's Hospitals in Galveston and Houston. Because of the natural disasters in the US, I've been told that donations are down. 100% of the money earned by the raffle goes to Motorcops for Kids benefiting the Shriner's Children's Hospital patients.

Wish we had a "Like" button.

Thank you.

Raffle tickets can be purchased until maybe 6PM on Saturday. I think Dawn will remove the button at that time. Sometime during the banquet at 7PM, the winner will be drawn.

Members here have stepped up and bought tickets. I hope one of us wins.

I think that if my name is selected, it'll be withdrawn and the selection will be done again, actually. That's OK with me. The cause is one of the best in the country.

Thanks Ken! I'll shoot you a text about it tomorrow. You all did such a great job on the event this year. The skill level of the competitors and the attention to detail by the organizers were both top shelf. Hope y'all had a great turn out on Saturday

Sara should be contacting you and getting the prize to you. I imagine you'll be hearing from her this week.

She has the actual unit in her possession.
