Vader's going under the tin snips......again
After two years of doing nothing but routine maintenance, adding gas, and riding, it's time to get back to it. The primary's leaking a bit, I think from the shift shaft seal, soooooooooooo while I'm in there......
- 3.37 gears are going in. Anyone know where I can get the sprocket and clutch shell cheap? - Gonna replace the stock shift shaft seal with one of these. -Does it make sense to replace anything else while I'm there (bike has 32,000 miles on it)? Inner primary bearing? Stator? -While the primary's off the bike, I'll put a round oil tank on (powdercoated wrinkle black, of course), and braided black lines. - Completely unrelated, I'm also gonna replace the front caliper with a Brembo from a Touring bike (really wish I'd saved one from the BSL, but oh well).

I've been good. I haven't bought a single farkle for Vader in two years. She deserves it.

I was looking at the pic of your garage the other day. Vader was on your lift and I forgot how kickass Vader is.

You gonna like it Russ.
I went with a 30 tooth engine output sprocket. Took my 2.96:1 factory gearing to the 3.35:1 that MOCO should have sent it with. The gear is over 2 lbs. lighter than stock and the starter is also much happier. Although I do use a TTS tuner, no speedo recalibration is needed. 2006 Street Bob 120" 140 HP / 144 TQ SAE 9F gear-Axtell-S&S/Darkhorse HPI 58/62-TTS-Jagg 10 Row True Track-Superbrace Boarzilla QB |

Yeah, it's nowhere near powerful enough to need a chain.

Can you fit a second disk and caliper on there?

Not with the front end I have. Storz makes a really nice inverted setup that allows a right-side rotor. I can't afford the $3000 entry fee though. The single Brembo will help though. I really have become conscious of how early I have to start chopping off speed when the road starts twisting.

05's were bad for shifter seal leaking. Check with Smart Dave, but I think Cometic make's a better seal for that shaft.
