OK what do you think of this ?
My 99 rkc is leaking trans fluid but not from anywhere near the tranny. It is a small leak that seems to be dripping from under the cam cover. If fact i can feel it when I touch the cables which run under/attached to, the frame near the rear brake pedal connection. I am certian it is not oil so I use red syn. Any clues?

Get a can of Brake Clean and clean the bottom as clean as possible then take her for a short ride.
Use a mirror and a bright drop light and see if you can get a better idea where the leak is coming from. The oil may be leaking forward when parked so it only seems to be leaking by the cam cover. |

Have you ever replaced the tranny seals?

Sometimes, if there's a leak at the fitting where the clutch cable meets the transmission side cover, the fluid will follow the clutch cable down and under the cam cover.

I had a small leak of transmission fluid... turned out to be the shifter shaft seal. HD has completely redesigned the seal as of last fall.
Might be worth a look. |

That's what happened to me at about 30,000 miles on the Low Rider. I went ahead and replaced all three then.
