Bye-bye, bikes.

The Shadow sold yesterday. My Virago just left with a young man who is thrilled to death with her and came by after his job ended at 11:00 p.m. with a fistful of hundreds to make sure nobody else got her. Sigh. She's a good girl and going to an appreciative home.

End of an era.

I've been to The Something three times (once by accident) and while the experience was interesting, I have no desire to repeat it. Riding the hills with half a million other people is not my idea of a good time.

I left out the thought that it is a good time to sell.

So are the scars from the time the back tire of the old H0nda Magna slid as I came to a stop and dumped both bike and me onto the gravel road. I traveled a good several feet after the bike came to rest. I never dropped Maggie, but I did kinda ease her down once.

You're right, Tom, it was a good time to sell. This kid was upgrading from a 250 and is only a couple of years older than the bike. He already had someone lined up to replace the seat cover with a custom design, and I know he'll take as good care of her as we did.
