SE 120R Project update

Well the SE 120R is in the 06 dyna, plan seems to be that it will be on the dyno Tuesday. Now I can't hardly wait to hear what kind of results it produces. Here are a couple of pictures of the install to date:

That idle issue will be taken care of tomorrow when they install the throttle plate. Seems they ran out of the screws that hold the plate in and had to order some. Something about it being a unique thread...

The throttle body and manifold were designed by Latus and Dan Baisley. Flow numbers are killer and it offers the ability to interchange the venturi.

That will cost you more than just the throttle body. New heads to accommodate the larger TB, oh yeah, the heads won't work with your cylinders, so you'll have to get new ones. Oh, dang, thise cylinders won't work in your case so you have to get a new one........and on and on....

2006 Dyna models were the "test" that MOCO used for all the mods that came out in the 07 models. The 06 dyna series have six speed transmissions, new style oil pump, hydraulic tensioners, newer style cam plate.

Congrats Insp.12, That looks killer. I've heard a few run at our local shop and just the volume of exhaust at idle.... You should have fun keeping the front tire in contact with terra firma

Well according to Harley it is a "race only motor intended for closed course off road use". In fact some of the shops here in Washington go so far as to insist the bike not have a license plate on it and the turn signal bulbs removed before they will work on them.

In consulting some Law Enforcement types I know, Washington state views this engine very similar to a crate engine for any other vehicle. As long as the VIN on the frame matches the registration, the vin on the engine isn't a big deal (less of course it comes up stolen or sumthin).

The shop that is installing the engine and doing the dyno work has no issues with doing the work knowing the bike will be street ridden.

I honestly think Harley knows these are being put into bikes that are being street ridden and the "off road" only language is a dodge. Since my engine has a late 2010 date of manufacture, it would theoretically need to meet 2011 model year EPA standards. Off road use doesn't have to meet epa....
