An update on Nicholas
He has had two rounds of chemo and some minor issues along the way, which included a short bout of infection. He has had good days and he has had some rough ones. But, his grandparents tell me he has been "a real trooper" through it all with very little complaining.
In about a week they will be harvesting his own stem cells. They will be treated and held for transfusion after his next round of chemo. Which, I was told, will be a big one and the transfusion of the stem cells will be needed to help bring his red and white cells back up as the chemo will decimate them. When they do the transfusion he will be in quarantine for 30 days with very limited visitation. Only family members and they must be gowned, capped and masked. After the quarantine period, he will have an MRI done and they will be able to access the effectiveness of treatment so far and what the next course of treatment will be (another round of chemo, surgery or radiation). Please keep praying for Nicholas as he continues to need them.
