The Zumo is designed to withstand the vibrations encountered on a bike. I have read about several of the cheaper units out there failing after a short time due to the vibrations.

The Street Pilot is quite durable too...I almost bought one last year...a Delinquent down the street has had one for a couple of years...

Yes, but you can't get a radar display on a 550 from what I understand.

Both good points but I don't think I could see much of the display if I wanted to...much less going down the road...besides with the Bluetooth weather/traffic it talks to ya and can plot a new route...

I didn't see anythign about warranty on the other link you posted. The ebay one charges $17 to ship, very salty, the other one was included. But a 1 year warranty would be nice, since it is refurbished.

I researched for about a year. It came down to 2 choices.
TomTom Rider or Garmin Zumo 550.
I finally decided on the Zumo. Hadi it mounted on the Ultra and I love it.
Pricey, but is weather proof and has everything you need.
GARMIN ZUMO 550.
Nuff said.

That works good when you are in a major metropolitan area where they broadcast that signal.

The NEXRAD stuff works in BFE.

I have used the ZUMO 550 since last summer..
Hard to find much wrong with it..
Garmin kicks ass in the GPS market..
The zumo is designed for bikes..

I've been waiting on a powerlet outlet, and techmount, for the ultra.
Just got it today.
No external wires from the unit..

Dang it! I missed by an hour. Now I'll never know what you meant.

Question: Are there two different Zumo 550's? Sometimes I see it advertised with XM, and sometimes there is no mention of it.

Zumo 550...with XM)))...Bluetooth compatible

XM))) is weather/traffic update down-loadable...I think both also have a flash card slot for uploadablity
