Sportser is the longest manufactored vehicle in US

Was just reading, I won't tell you where, that the Sportster is the longest produced vehicle in America. The covervette took some time off in the 80s, which I didn't know.

Though this was kinda interesting.

It was only in 1983 that GM did not produce any Corvettes, although even that is not exactly true. They did produce a handful of 1983 models, but none were ever sold. There is a white 1983 at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY, the only 1983 known to still exist. Production was shut down from October 1982 - January 1983 while they geared up to start producing the C4 generation (1984-1996).

For some reason, sporties got a bad rap. They were meant to be a fast bike. Then the Japs came, and maybe took some wind out of there sales.

If I ever had extra money, I would get a 883 used and punch it out. Be a fun bike.
