We did the E III, How about the 2nd Gen American Elite
For the new frame touring bike?
Has anyone tried any 2nd Gen American Elite tires? How is the handling and wear compared to the stock D 408 and D 407?

I have them on mine and really like them. Very close to the factory tires for handling and wear.

That is saying that the new frame is pretty good handling with stock tires on it.

I gotta say, I love the stock tires on the new frame. They wear well, don't cup as long as you keep air in them, and grip well, wet or dry.

Mine did the handsfree shimmy and at mike's suggestion I found the front at 34 psi. bumped up to 42 and the shimmy is pretty much gone.
Note it is/was only a hands-free thing; no drama in any other mode.
