Larry Piesco

Larry Piesco was my best friend in junior high and high school back in 1965-68. We were in Lincoln Jr. High and Santa Monica High (SaMoHi) then. I moved to The OC in 1968.

Larry was a great guy....not very big, but a great sense of humor and always happy. We were crazy about cars back then and followed NASCAR, F1, and Indy racing. His mom (parents divorced) had dated the American driver Phil Hill, and we would ride our bikes to Mr. Hill's house and watch him work on his antique cars. Being half Italian, he was a huge Mario Andretti fan.

Larry eventually became an L.A. motorcycle cop. He also had a sport bike that he loved to ride.

Larry was killed on Fathers Day 2002 (6-16-02) riding his sport bike. Someone he had helped as a cop put up this small page: http://www.ciajfk.com/larry.html

Just recently I got an email from an old girlfriend of his who had found a post I made on a SaMoHi forum. She just sent me several pix of him, and them together.

He was a good friend and I wish he was still here.

Sorry you lost your friend du - you do him proud by remembering him and all the good things about him.

I hope it's not anytime soon, but if I gotta go, I hope I go doing something I love like he did... God bless...

1BdBagr has failed to amuse us
Just the fact that you carry on & remember your friend as you do says a lot about you. Some friends we will keep with us always, regardless of time. A buddy of mine who died more than 10 years ago is in my thoughts quite often. Some folks just go TOO soon. The only thing i can think of is the song by Billy Joel.."only the good die young". I really miss my buddy and all the fun we had chasin' leg (among other things...). I'm sure you feel the same. Sorry for your loss. I just hope he's not up there laughin' at me...
Later Tim
