Does anybody have any experience with using the Fuel Moto Pro Billet Stage 1 Air Cleaner? I am going to order the PV2 from them and noticed you basically get the air cleaner at 50% ($72.50 vs. $149) if you order it as a bundle.

http://68.233.252.177/harley/air-cle...fm117-460.html

I've ordered the Fullsac headers and am buying a used set of Street Cannon's with the black tips later today. I can't wait to get this all put together and head for the Hill Country next weekend!

Billy, I don't have all that 'other' stuff ... some day, HOWEVER, I did buy a used pair of Street Cannon's .... just like brand new !!!! shipped to my house for $200 .... THANKS Brother CHIP !!!

Billy, I LOVE the sound of those mufflers !!!! quiet when you want, loud if you want, nice deep rumble at crusie ...... I'm sure they'd change with head pipes, but not so much that I wouldn't like them, I don't think

Good Luck Billy !!

I'm sure it flows well. Unless you do something drastic to the engine any aftermarket AC will outflow the needs of the motor.

At that price, and if you like the looks I would get it.

I don't particularly like air cleaners that take heated engine air and suck it into the intake. I had an air cleaner that did that. Measured 140 degree air in the intake when the ambient air was only 95. That was at 75 mph on the highway!

Auto makers go to great lengths and expense to pipe ambient air into intakes instead of just taking air from the engine compartments. The engine runs better on cooler air. I think it's an efficiency thing.

On exhaust, Dan is my authority on them. He's tried so many different exhaust systems over the years. It's really hard to get the look and sound that you might want in one package.
I really, really like the sound of the SuperTrapp Fat Shots. The quieter deep sound suits me perfectly. But I'm not a fan of the way they look. So last year, I bought some Fulsac baffles and some take-off Screamin' Eagle mufflers. Did the modifications to install the baffles. What I ended up with is a really great-looking set of mufflers that are a bit too "blappy" for my desire. I think it's a trade-off. Spent so much money on the current setup that I'm sticking with it for a while.

Headers? I really believe that Jackpot headers are the absolute best. When I traded in my 2010 for the 2013 Limited, I pulled the Jackpot headers off the old motor and put them on the new. So now, they have 5 full years of service and look brand new. They use the stock heat shields; so they look totally stock. They're made out of stainless steel and don't rust or corrode. Other brands don't have enough ground clearance. I've seen many exhaust headers that have worn completely through the heat shields and into the header.

You won't be sorry for getting a PowerVision. Dan introduced them to me when they first came out. I bought one for my 2010, transferred it to the 21013, and have been using it ever since. Mine is permanently mounted on my handlebars so I can watch fuel consumption, instantaneous mileage, trip mileage, ET, etc. when on trips. Love it. The fuel consumption is often accurate to 1/100th of a gallon. I know precisely how much fuel I've used and if I'm in trouble.

Ken

Redirect on Ken's post.

ALL AIR CLEANERS RE-DIRECT HOT GASSES FROM THE HEAD BACK INTO THE INTAKE.

Required by EPA.

PERIOD.

There are ways to change that.

I have the SE ac system, plugged the return lines, and ran external breathers.

As to warranty, the burden is on them to prove what you did caused a warranty issue.

Doing a basic stage 1 will not void your warranty. How can making your engine run BETTER hurt your warranty?

I have a full stage 1, completely installed by me, tune, mufflers, headers, intake... and I ran external breathers and plugged the EPA ports.

Had it in for warranty work yesterday morning, no issues. My warranty isn't voided... imagine that.

You're talking about the crankcase breathers (that come from the rocker boxes on top of the heads).

I was referring to the actual filtered air intake . . . the air that mixes with the fuel to form the vapor for combustion.

I went cheap and got vtwin manufacturing true duals with s&s 3.5" mufflers. Retains stock heat shields and sounds great for under $400.

Haven't had it dynoed but she runs dead even with safetyman's scoot!

That says something right there.

Got everything ordered and installed in time for the trip to the Hill Country this weekend! Here's what I went with-

Fullsac DX headers
Street Cannon slip-ons
Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner
Power Vision II tuner

I appreciate all of the recommendations and a special thanks to Ken for installing it for me!

You have an absolutely beautiful motorcycle, Billy. It was a pleasure working on it for you. I love the looks of your new mufflers. The headers also look like they'll be a very good and long-lasting product. They're the first Fulsac headers I've installed. I like the way your ground clearance is maintained with these and the way the stock shields fit on them so nicely.

Have a good time on your trip. Ask Dan to help you fine-tune your motor with the Power Vision. He's an expert at it. Also, calibrate your tank to tank fuel consumption and miles traveled to the actual fuel from the gas pump and the miles from your GPS.

I didn't calibrate your speedometer. Dan probably has the correction factor that'll make it precise with the GPS and actual speed from the number in his 2014. I would have entered the number to match my 2013, but thought that there may be a difference.

Wish I was going to the Hill Country with everyone this weekend.

Ken
