This was also in our local paper, but I still can't find a date for this. I don't do Facebook so that doesn't help me. Do you know the date for the ride James?

From the club FB Page:
ALCON: Here's the latest info on the escort. We will be rallying up at the I-95 Rest Area, mile marker 155 Northbound (Prince William County, VA) @0700 Friday 6/27 and heading to Dover, DE. We will stage outside of the base (exact location TBD) and the escort of Staff Sergeant Stewart will begin at approximately 12:00 PM heading back south. We will publish the staging area outside of Dover AFB as soon as we have it for those who want to meet there. This will be a law enforcement escorted ride and therefore you must be at the beginning point in Dover and stay with the ride until its conclusion in Stafford. Due to safety concerns for all riders and especially the LEO's conducting the escort, dropping off or jumping in along the route will not be allowed due to the additional risk associated. This escort is for motorcycles only, no cages please. This is the best info we have at this point so please understand, this is subject to change. We will post any changes/updates as we receive them. All are welcome as long as you can make the entire ride. You should have at least a 160 mile fuel range to be safe.

From all the attention this has gotten here locally, I think there will be a big turn out.

Started at 0715.
Police escort all the way, no tolls - no red lights 152 miles to Dover AFB. Return Trip - 190 miles to Stafford. At least 400 bikes were there at Dover for the trip to Stafford. Again, police escort all the way to Stafford, no tolls or red lights. Tens of thousands of people including First Responders lined the route home. American flags and home-made messages for the family all the way to Stafford. JohnnyD is officially hard-core; 340 miles, no complaining, no whining. He understood last night the reason for the escort. SSgt David Stewart is home. |

Thanks for your participation Timmy and JohnnyD.
Patti and I were in King George when you passed by. We took 218 and were waiting near the company office when you crossed the bridge on Butler Road. Here's a couple pics I took. Your in the second pic waving as you passed by, but don't think you saw us on the hill.

Thanks Mike - send me the full image if you can.
I am beat. Both the ride to Dover & back to Stafford were non-stop. Seven hours in the saddle without a break. ...I think John is already conked out. |

Timmy did us proud by riding to honor this brave solider. Mike and I paid our respects along the route. You had to ride 200 miles without stopping and I knew I wouldn't be able to do that.
A lot of people turned out to show their respects.
