Colorado fires
My daughter says the fires came on hard and fast from downed powerlines in hurricane force gusts. 0% contained. The town of Superior has been essentially obliterated. Louisville has been evacuated and is burning. Parts of Lafayette are burning. Other full town evacuations are pending. She has had to go into the fire area multiple times to tell idiots who resist evacuating that they need to leave. My personal feeling is people who make the decision to resist evacuation orders should just be left to burn or drown or blow away without any expectation of other people risking their lives to rescue them later. She has fairly significant smoke inhalation and is headed out of the fire area. My son is on deployment and waiting to get called down there.
Sometimes having family in first responder positions sucks.

Daughter will be fine, but recovering from smoke inhalation takes a little while. A lot of people will be experiencing that process. One of the other Lafayette officers got a torn cornea from debris in the air. People were allowed to go back home in Broomfield. The fires are in Boulder County southeast of Boulder.

I’m a bit late, but prayers from here for your daughter and son, and those they work with. We have a first responder or two in our family, I can appreciate your concern.

Thanks, JD. She's done search and rescue for a couple of days, which she likes, but it still takes an emotional and physical toll.
