Major progress today!
Today, spray foam!.
I have been debating/questioning every source on all aspects of the foam process.
I decided (finally) on what I wanted to do.
I had them spray 1" of Closed Cell floor to 7' on the walls.
Then 3-1/2" Open Cell from 7' up to the roofline.
Then the roof received 5-1/2" of Open Cell.
I had to really hustle to get all the trims done in time for the spray appointment but the result is with it. The foam looks amazing, the building is now much further along as all the trims are completed on the enclosed portion. The porch area still needs trimming out.
The foam took about three hours. The crew was very professional and did a great job.
I got what was promised, and more.
It looks like I could make a meat locker out of the place!

Walking that ladder would probably do me in. Running up and down every time probably would too.

It was fun to watch but I couldn't do that trick without ending up with more Karate lessons.

Now, if only i can sort out how to rotate or unlock the saved video! It was shot in the correct orientation, but apparently saved in the wrong way.... ibroke it.

If you work up on a ladder a lot, you learn some tricks, Used to hang 4" black iron pipe from the top of a 12' ladder on the top rung and could get some good torque on the joining of the pipes.


There was one night, we were on a project in one of the warehouses, and I couldn't go past the third step.


Don't know what happened, just couldn't do it.

The next night I was just fine.

I live on ladders at work. We have aluminum ladders with steps/rungs on both sides, they are made by Stokes Ladders out of Kelseyville, CA. I wish everything was built as well as their ladders.

A Surprise in the Post Today!

I received a note and a gift(!) for the shop!

The note:

"Hey, Ricky!
Greg (Ancient Iron) here. Looks like you just about have the new shop whipped. It's looking very nice! Back in central Kansas where I was raised, I was involved with helping friends build quite a few of those things. When it was about done someone would always present the owner with a horseshoe. Not a new shoe or a throwing shoe, but an actual horseshoe that had been attached to a horse.
An Uncle told me it had to a used shoe to represent the effort and work it took to build the shop, barn or shed. So, I thought I'd send you one to tack up on a post if you see fit so it can start collecting good luck for the building.
