Thank you for posting this. Its one of those details that suffers common misunderstanding. (sort of akin to the chuck/chuck key controversy) I hate to correct folks on it...I'm glad you've saved me from needing to.
I would add that a stripper clip from a Mauser should be included here.

I have a single stripper clip full of .223 around here. I don't have the adapter to use it on my Mini-14 mag though.

Cool. We had several for my dad's AR15 mags, but they wouldn't fit right on a Mini-14.

Josh, that clip is full of 8mm Lebel French Mega, both of yours are full of .303 British (I recognize both the clip and the magazine)...God, I need a life! Oh, don't store ammo in magazines long term....It is possible the spring will take a "set" and be weaker (depends on the spring). How'd I do? geeded
