Have to shut the laptop off to transport it home.
My computers at work go into secure sleep mode when not being used. I unplug the laptops (I usually have at least 3 computers going) and let them go into sleep and have the battery power deal with it. I have a desktop at home but have not turned it on in 4 years or so.

It is the heat and cool cycle involved that is the issue,its hard on the processer and the ram to cycle hot and cold. Plus the updates and disk maintence you miss. The head ache isnt worth the down time. just say'in
