It's the firmware. You have to update occasionally. Especially if your router has been sitting on a shelf for months on it. Had to do the same thing when I first bought mine.

One more note for those that might have wireless router problems. Cordless phones on 2.4 ghz frequency will not play nice with wireless routers on the same freq. In that case you need to get 900 mhz phones.

Or you could get 5.8ghz or the new DECT phones.

Lowering the MTU will sometimes help on DSL.

As tasty as that sounds, none of the ISP's will give ya that with their service. Pity really.

Instead they give ya Point to point protocol over etherenet. It helps guarantee bandwidth and stops (somewhat) yer neighbor from hacking yer computer.

It's a poor substitute for a snack on a Pachyderm, but the best they'll do in this age of cost cutting and all.
