Installing, 2011 EG, F/P and all inside tank parts.

Well it is pretty easy.
I understand the transfer tube better, it goes over the top of the tank frame tunnel to the right side of the tank. There is a clip on the right side the tube clips to, the end goes to the bottom of the tank right side, about a eight of a inch off the bottom. Maybe a bit of a well down there?

Lubed the O'ring inside the transfer tube by sloshing it around in the puddle of fuel, make sure it is fully locked onto the pump body tube it attaches to.

What I did find was all four slide in clips of the fuel pump were not in their slots on the old fuel pump to the tunnel hump bracket.

A bit of patience and holding your mouth just right and the new pump tabs all went into the slots, there are four of the tabs that, fit/ slide, into the slots.

Then putting the tank level sensor back in takes a bit more patience, it tends to want to fall into the left side just as you think you have it in place.

Next up is putting in the new quick disconnect valve tube assembly without much fuel spillage, that is the tube from the filter to the fitting on the underside of the tank the fuel injector tube connects to.

One thing I noted on the new fuel pump is the pre (sock) filter bracket wouldn't stay locked onto the body of the pump (see pics). There were inspection black marks on the lock tabs but they wouldn't stay locked. So I wrapped a couple of wire ties around the pump body, and behind the tabs, to hold lock tabs in place and a safety tie to hold the "belt" in place.

After tank interior remodel

Update:

Well the past few days this week has been getting into the mid to upper fifties and Carson City / Reno into the low sixties.

So this morning after the temps got above 35° f here at home I did a little ride to pick up filters for the cars and some bank business.

After replacing everything inside the tank it now seems to be doing OK. Maybe the pump or regulator were weak, I'll never know which it was, but while in there may as well shotgun the job... ( A.K.A. replace everything and hope.)

While mine is off the bike, I'm going to do some maintenance as well.

I need to replace the check valve on the bottom of the tank. When I disconnected it, the valve would not stop leaking, even when I tried to manipulate it multiple times. Ended up syphoning fuel out of the tank so it wouldn't leak all over my parts table.

Figure if going that far, might as well replace the fuel filter and inspect everything else. Haven't had ANY problem with fuel delivery thus far. I've read a few other threads about this process. Is it possible to remove the ring without the $50 tool ?

Yes, I believe you could tap on the "ears" of the lock ring with a "dull" screwdriver or punch.

Used to do that to get lock ring off Lincoln fuel pump retaining lock ring.

Just be very, very careful it doesn't miss or slip off and gouge the fuel tank paint...
