Finally got around to swapping the belt today.


Took it for a little putt and got a sammich.

While in there, I took a look again at the rotor and stator. Got a bit of a scare because it looked like the stator had a small burn spot where the lacquer was cooking off.

I decided to clean that spot and recoat it with some paint or similar, so I wiped it off with alcohol and !surprise! The spot went away! It's not burned, just weird.
Good news is welcomed.
I put the belt tension at 5/8" instead of 3/8".
It makes me feel better.

The old belt might've lasted another ten years with the chopped teeth but it had a bunch of hairline cracks that made me unable to trust it.

Good job Ricky. I know you'll have piece of mind now, rather than always thinking is it going to brake every time you ride.

Since you didn't post anything about it, I take it the compensator parts looked okay too?
