That was close
Fire the last year or so we've been seeing the Bradford pear trees in our neighborhood fall apart. They're all about 15 years old, so I guess they're reaching the end of their lifespan. Last night we had some really bad storms come through, and yes, now it's or turn. Luckily it fell just right and missed Kats truck. Scheduling the tree removal guy right now.

Egad!
Damn the developers who "landscaped" with the cheap, fast growing, weak-ass trees.

Bradfords are very prominent in our area. Had one right in front of the living room window. Several years ago, at a time when they had all become relatively mature, a storm cam through and took out a large number of them. While I had had ours pruned multiple times to hopefully prevent such a fate, based on the admonition of my tree guy that it was "only a matter of time" before ours met a similar fate, I had it taken down.

Yup, the fast growers are weak when it comes to hard winds.
Lucky...

Right! They are beautiful for about 2 weeks in the shooting when they bloom. But apparently they are cheapo, and weako, and now dangeroso.

Neighbor had a dozen lining their driveway. Not a single one left.
This Cedar branch came down on my roof two weeks ago. No damage or claim. Took 4 trip to the dump for all the debris. Probably have to take the tree down as that branch broke off to the center of the tree.
