Blue screen of death

...after my daughter logged into My Space..
I ran antivirus..got 6 trojans, cleared them
Now when the computer boots..I get the desktop icons going on and off,
then off with only the wallpaper staying put. WTF? Tried rebooting into
safe mode..icons aren't there. Can open a program after restarting ..but only from a right click..if ts done before the icons vanish.
Ideas? I do have a Mac available...but I like having both operating systems.

Boot the computer into safe mode with networking (press F8 on the keyboard while it is booting up, You'll get a menu that list that among other options)

See if the computer responds somewhat normally at that point.

If it does and you can get on the internet with it, Google Malwarebytes, download it, install it, update it, and run it. You most likely have gotten a piece of malware from a banner ad on MySpace that is causing it to do that, this program should clean you right up.

Thanks..that actually worked. I had run Trend Micro house call, avast, spybot,
ccleaner, did several system restores, and registry booster before this.

I have to clean up my kids computer weekly. Sometimes I'm lazy, and don't. I keep telling them to stay off that crap.

Spaz got some Google redirector crap on a desktop a few weeks ago. I had to use combofix and malwarebytes to get it off. None of the commercial AV or spyware stuff would touch it.

Spyware Dr. is also a good one. Had a similar problem couple of years ago, downloaded it and it found and got rid of stuff my AV, malware program etc. couldn't even recognize.
