Riding the Dragon
For those of you the ride the Tail of the Dragon, some sick, sadistic fool has been pouring oil on the road trying to wreck motorcycles. I came across it today after it rained and by the time I saw the rainbow from the oil, my back wheel started coming out from under me. I saved it but I took it easy until I was clear of the slick. It was about 2 miles long and on the left-hand side of the lane, like someone was driving and pouring it out of their window. Reported it to the folks at Deals Gap Resort and they said that someone has been doing that lately.
ooops ............. Lee Traxler to We Ride North Carolina Good morning everyone After reading about malicious oil slicks being purposefully poured onto The Tail of The Dragon, I reached out to Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort. They are unaware of any such activity & suggest that it is just an Internet rumour. However, they also reminded that US129 is a public highway and that conditions can change. Be vigilant and always ride with care. MLH&R -- Cap'n
