We have a few days to kill on the way to Sturgis, so we thought we'd hit Yellowstone and then Jackson. What is the consenus - hwy 287 to the west entrance or the 191 or hwy 89 and thru the Gardiner entrance????

It will be nice to have time for once and not having to tear a 45* run thru the badlands of eastern Montana.....

Cheers,
Dirk

Man.. what a trip. Twas there last year but a week or so before the rally. Roads were not crowded and they were wide open for some of the best riding a person could desire. I just can't imagine it with a couple of hundred bikes all stopping and going every few hundred feet.

Personally I think that part of the country is the best all around for biking.

Just make sure you stop by Mitchell and let Todd buy you some free homemade ice cream and hot dogs!!!

Billy B, honey, for you and your fair lady I will be willing to brave the unruly crowds of Sturgis for a day just to say hello. You're also welcome to make a swing by our place. We can probably find a couch, a place for a tent, or piece of floor for folks who want to head west from the Black Hills.

Shell Canyon (Ten Sleep to Buffalo) is a great ride. Steep on the Buffalo side of the mountains- spectacular view.

Looks like I'll be there the week before the rally, (7/31-8/4) staying in Deadwood. If anyone's going to be around during that time I'd like to meet y'all.

I should be there then, the week before is my favorite time to go, usually head for home on 1st or 2nd day of the rally.
