Bridge project finally started

Finally.

Monday, I'm across the street yaking with a neighbor, looking at the storage shed he build and getting ideas.

Sleeveless comes walking over. She says Roger (my boss) just called. He wants you to bring the White truck to Leesburg and exchange it for something else, and you'll be starting on the bridge tomorrow.

Nothing like a little warning. I'm thinking my summer riding has just been cancelled, maybe fall too.

Here are a few pics from this week. Just in the rigging stage now, temporary hard deck will be commencing tomorrow. Blasting and painting won't happen for a couple weeks.

It looks like that bridge is due for a clean and paint. How do you recover the old removed paint for disposal?

1993-1995 I would commute across that bridge to/from work. Was the easiest way to get from the Navy Yard to Reston/Herndon when I didn't have a carpool ride on 66 and took less time than riding Metro.

100% 1A containment, Dust collection, vacuum grit recovery and separation of comtaminated paint chips and dust from reusable grit. All properly documented, stored, with samples shipped to a lab for processing to determine level of contaminates (if any), then hazmat shipped to a storage facility.
