Gents,

Talk about the best bike in the Moco stable, the Road Glide, in this thread right here!

I was riding with an old timer from a 3-patch club over the weekend, he rides an old shovel and was having issues with a bent rear wheel. He traded for one of other guys' Road Glide for the ride home and they trailered his shovel for him. He said he'd never ridden an RG before, so I told him before we left "You're gonna want one after you ride it."

When we stopped for gas a few miles down the road he and I got to talking and he couldn't get over how nice the ride was on the RG. He kept saying "God damn, this thing rides like a fukken Cadillac!" I just smiled and said "See, I told you."

Great story!

I have taken two, two week rides on mine now. It does like to cover the miles and it does it with a lot of comfort as well. Put a Russell seat on mine and it is like sitting in an easy chair. The air shocks need to go though. Working on getting that done soon I hope.

According to 8-ball, the best will become even better then!

Thanks Dwarthog. With the stock bars, I could not ride for more than 20 minutes without getting a shooting pain down my neck. I'm 6 foot even, with a 34" inseam. I went to the 12" mini apes (Chubbys I think) x 1 1/4". Had to got with 6" over cables. I had the work done at my dealer - OTD P&L was about $700, but they "lost" money (insert tongue in cheek) - in that they quoted me 3 1/2 hours labour to install the bars when in actuality it took them 8 hours - and that was with a good, meticulous wrencher.
With the 12", my hands are still just below my shoulder socket, and I can ride all day and night with absolutely NO pain. I like the back end too, with the smoked laydown taillight and laydown license plate holder. I've got a LED in the taillight - I'm trying to eliminate ALL color off the bike.

Thanks.

LT.

My new scooter

Here's a couple pics of my 2005 RG.

This is what it looked like when I picked it up:

This is after a few changes... New windshield, seat and stripe on the fairing:

Thanks, I created the stripe in Adobe Illustrator and a local sign shop cut it for me. Then I outlined it w/ pinstripe tape to match the factory stripes. $25 for the stripe, $5 for the pinstripe tape.
