I really respect what Willie G did for the MoCo.

I can't help but think that perhaps some new blood at the design chief's post will bring a new look or style to the product line up.
Looking inside a H-D showroom is like looking at pictures of the cars being driven in Cuba today, stuck in a time warp. Like they are still building 53 Chevy's with fuel injection and ABS.

But is that the fault of the designer or the customer? The V-Rod never sold well, I don't think the XR1200 is doing as well here as it does in Europe...

A friend of somebody's cousin that works at a dealership said now that he's retiring the new bikes will be water cooled.

Cuba stuck in a time warp...Dictatorship for the last 50ish years.

H-D stuck in a styling time warp...Willie G, design Director last 50 years.

I can't help but think that if Chevy busted out the old dies and pressed out several thousand shoeboxes with FI and ABS and all the modern running gear, they'd sell every last one

i'd bet on that too...

many of those were at Pittsburgh...stored outside...covered with grease, but mostly rusted...i heard there were offers to buy them...so, around 1986, they dropped another die on the draw dies till they broke into pieces...loaded them into railroad cars, and sent them to the scrap yards...

i used to go out there...they called it the "prairie"...and look around...the oldest i saw was 1952...

we did run quite a few thousand 71/72 Chevelle SS hoods sometime in the 90's...then the dies were scrapped...
