Husky tools warranty
So I begin the adventure of putting all those parts on the Limited, only to find out my inch pounds torque wrench had gone kaput.
The square head just spins, like the ratchet part of it is missing. The wrench is a Husky brand that I bought probably 20 years ago. Recently Home Depot started advertising if one of their Husky brand hand tools fails, ever, bring it back and they will replace it free - no questions asked. So tonight I went to the local Home Depot with my broken wrench. I walked up to the customer service desk and explained that my Husky tool was broken. The questions started- did you buy it here? Do you have a receipt? Is there a barcode to scan, blah blah blah. Then he took it out of the case and asked what it was. He said he'd have to talk to someone in the tool department. He gets on the walkie talkie and asks the tool dept person to come up to the desk. The tool dept is apparently run by an Indian woman who struggles with the language. She looks at it and says they don't have any. I show her my phone which has the HD website up and it says they have 6. Then she asked what it was. She goes to look for it and comes back with a 3/8" ratchet. I explained the difference between a torque wrench and a ratchet, trying to stay calm. So she started back to the tool aisle, but this time I followed her. She pointed to the wall of ratchets and said they don't have any. I pointed to the torque wrenches right behind her. She was like wow ! I picked one out bright it to customer service to have the little theft thingy deactivated and walked out. Sure beats spending $70 on a new one. So bottom line is the warranty is good. The hired help, not so much. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I’m sure she was mixing (the wrong color) paint last week and killing plants with too much water the week before.

Some years back I was at a Sears and asked if they had any valve spring compressors in stock, they told me to go check over by the air compressors.

Husky is Home Depot's own brand and yes it does have a lifetime warranty. I have a Craftsman ratchet that I bought about 50 years ago and it has been slipping for a few years now. I kept meaning to take it back to Sears but now they have left town.

I think Ace Hardware stores are now carrying Craftsman tools, and will honor the warranty. May wanna give them a call first. Don't just go in there saying that some whack job on the internet said they would and now they need to honor it.

I tried to exchange some craftsman tool at the "local" Ace and they told me they would only exchange it if the tools had been purchased from them originally.
There goes the "lifetime warranty" claim, such as in the case of the Husky when you have all kinds of uninformed people working that have no clue. Warranty link... V V V https://images.homedepot-static.com/...0376223f7c.pdf Or call 1-800 HD- Husky...

On the basis that Sears was dieing and Home Depot is 40 miles away vice Lowes at 6. I too have a Sears ratchet that has broken teeth, and have lost my 1/4 and 1/2 somehow Damn it, torque wrenches only get a year.

They did honor it, but after the 20 questions game
I now have a new, working torque wrench and I'm confident Home Dept will be around longer than I will be wrenching Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I always felt the same way about sears. Invested a lot of money in Craftsman tools. Gonna be pretty upset if they don't stand behind their products now.

As did I. Now I have a mixture of Craftsman, Kobalt, and Husky

Still mostly Craftsman here, with a spattering of Kobalt. Don't know that I have but a couple Husky.

Who deals in Kobalt? And do their tools have a lifetime warranty?

IIRC Lowes is the Kobalt dealer.
My work supplied Craftsman 3/8" angle head ratchet gears failed, it was in the tool box years before I got to the state garage, I went over to a Sears in Fresno to get the gear kit to repair it. They no longer gave / give out gear repair kits, gave me a new made in China ratchet wrench, I only used it for one year when it gave up the ghost in the gear drive Sad . . .
