I downloaded it yesterday. The mapping seems to be so far so good but I have heard people in larger cities complain about the lack of walking and public transportation being shown as an option under directions. Looks like Google Maps is still an option under the App Store though for those that need it.

Hmmm, I've got the Google app, not seeing the maps. I'll look further.
So far, I like iOS6. The Facebook integration is nice, as is the available call rejection scheme(s). The new map app is far better. I'm curious to see how well it integrates with OSX.

Got it last night. Still feeling my way around. I'm on an iPhone 4 so I don't get the full benefit of maps. I like it so far though. My iP5 should be here next week.

Google is getting a new maps app into the app store, the YouTube app is already there. If you want to use Google maps with iOS 6 until then...here is a shortcut-

Whats the story with the "passbook" thing?
Can't get it to do anything.

I don't really think that passbook is ready for prime time. Ultimately, you will be able to put movie and event tickets, boarding passes and things like that into the passbook and then electronically redeem them as needed. The problem is that very few businesses are ready to get out the door with that feature. It might be time for the iPhone 6 before it is something that is widely used.

So far I'm happy with it. Doesn't seem to chew the battery up any worse, and I like the feature set. Siri works a bit better, so it's easier to control the phone through the headset while I'm riding. It'll read and compose texts, switch playlists, and whatnot. I like.
Found out I'm getting a Verizon iPhone5 for work tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how that one works.

Droid doesn't have anything better in NFC. Only a handful of phones support NFC and there are hardly any merchants that accept NFC payments. Sometimes the nerds making the phones envision everyone using a certain technology the public ultimately doesn't give a sh*t about. That said, I do see NFC becoming something with a moderate adoption rate in the next 5 years.
