I get no reaction from the grooved lanes using the Avons.... very unlike the stock Dunlops which like to follow them...

Nearly all the Interstate from the dealer (who put on my E3s) to the office is "milled" (deep grooves). Now the bike doesn't track in them nearly as bad. Also; seams -- MUCH better. No longer get that wobble during lane changes across seams. They behave the way I'd expect a softer compound tire to behave. Verdict is still out since I just had them put on. First Impression is good. I'll get about 1000-1200 miles on them over the weekend.

Well, I got about 3000 miles on my E3's with about 800 of those miles in the rain. I like them MUCH better than the stock Dunflops. Bike goes where I point it and ignores the groves in the road. The back looks much better than the last tire with this milage. I am guessing I can get 10-12K out of this one vs. 6-8K on the stock ones. I went with the MT on the front and MU on the back. I ride hard and fast and bike is full of stuff all the time. I would like to try the AVONs sometime but these seem to be the right choice for me so far.

Heard tell that you change the back twice to every one on the front....is that going to be about the same with the E3's? Also...same pressure on the E3's...35psi? Just checking.

I had a chance to ride over a grated bridge with the E3's and had no walking like with the D402's. Tracked straight across. Very stable, I liked it. |

I like the feel and handling of the E3 but I have a question.
Every bike I have ever had allowed me to get 12,000 to 14,000 on the rear tire. On the Ultra I have been fortunate to get 6,000. I have about 6,000 on an E3 and it won't make 2,000 more. I got 6,000 out of the stock tire and 5,000 with a Continental. Is the extra weight causing my problem, or is there something else I need to be looking at? I keep an eye on the tire pressure and ride the same as always. Or am I stuck with having to change the rear almost every time I do a service?

I got around 6000, up to 8000 on other tires on my Ultra, the E3 has about 5000 now and looks better than the others did at that point, hoping that it will last me close to the 10,000 I hear others get on their baggers. Don't know why your E3 would be wearing so fast. To many burnouts?

Yes he does try to look the part. But when no one is looking he scares small children at Sonics and does burnouts in front of the local high school.

I ride faily conservatively, but I do leave intersections faster than most. It could be tire slippage from that. It surely has nothing to do with using the brakes. I almost never have to change them.

I just got E3's put on Saturday. When I rode back home...it was such a different feeling. At first it felt like when I pushed to turn it was gonna fall over...then after a bit I realized that it took hardly anything to get it to turn and hug...really like em...put on about 400 miles over the weekend and riden to job sites and work. I likem alot...my mechanic...Peppe...Custom Cycles of Saint Augustine...(plug)...figured as long as I kept the 40PSI I would get 10k out of it.
