Non-riders
It seems some of us feel the time has come to retire from active riding.
I am one of those. For a couple of years now I have been resigned to watching the younger crowd on their bikes, and reliving the memories of many years of riding. Today my vehicle of choice is a 2017 Hon#a CRV.

I'm hoping for many years before I pack it in

Sorry to hear that, Mike.
I hope I never have to pack it in. I’ll get training wheels before that happens. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

I thought about training wheels, but they wouldn't be much help with the arthritis in my clutch hand. Nothing like going for the clutch and having your thumb joints seize up.

I have a friend that has a disability, so she bought a trike. They did something fancy with the clutch. I can’t remember if they moved it to the foot, or installed a power assist of some sort. I can ask her, if you’re interested.

Yes, please, I'd be interested to know about clutch adaptations.

Here is one system, $$$$$!, maybe some others out there?
Like some kind of "mouse trap" system? https://www.adaptivetechnologyllc.co...clutch-assist/

That is indeed a few more bucks than I can afford to spend at this point in my life, but isn't it interesting? I learned to compensate with my right hand aching from holding the accelerator open, but there wasn't much way I could adapt to the clutch without mechanical adjustments.

Sold mine coupla months ago.
Just hadn't rode enough to justify keeping it. Guess I can rent if the itch or a special group gathering/ride etc.

I think Mr. Margarita was more reluctant to sell the bikes than he admitted. Put them in the paper kinda late in the year.

My sweetie and I are taking our Pedego battery assist bikes to the
Grand Canyon next week. They have a hiking/bike trail that follows the south rim of the canyon for a great scenic ride. Hey..not what you ride but that you ride.

The decision when to stop riding is one we all face. Sometimes it's sooner than it needed to be. Sometimes it's later than it should have been. And, sometimes it's a forced situation. For me, I hope/pray it is a time of my choosing. That in mind, next Aug. my plan is to ride to Sturgis for the annual rally, then return home to celebrate my 75th birthday seven weeks later.
