Playing with the PV 1 auto tune.

First do not put it face down in the tour pack on top of something like a glove.

It will auto do something from contact with the object it is laying on...

Later in the day reset it to auto tune, rode it some 70 miles and figure out how to save it to one of the slots.

under load, off load, up to 95 MPH in 5th for a couple of miles, roll it off down to 45 - 50 in fifth and then roll back up to 75 - 85 MPH.

Some down hill, some up, some flat'ish road, not too steep up or down, some in town traffic.

Now to get the nerve to load that "saved" auto tune map to the ECU...

*(edit)(during auto tune process, loading a tune I understand) Does the bike have to stay on at all times? (during auto tune) I did,(keep the bike running) seems it (PV 1) shuts off with key off, does it (PV) put a "bookmark" (on the auto tuning recording) and continue the session when you restart from a stop/shutdown?

I've always loaded tunes with the ignition in the on position, and the off/run switch in the run without the bike running. It's the only way the PV can see the ECM. After loading the tune, turn the ignition switch off for 10 seconds, then you can turn it back on and start the bike.

It was the recording part I was worried about...

I have the ride saved, now just to try it out, can always fall back on the Jamie map I have that it came with.

So much fun on the ride today, some asshat pulls across three lanes of highway right in front of me, had to test the new rear brakes, later some "lady" in her suburban on her cell phone decides it's better to swerve into half my lane and me to avoid slowing down for the person turning right that was in front of her, I talked calmly to her about almost taking me out and her talking and driving while on the cell phone, she was sorry..., bless her heart.

Felt a need for some doughnuts afterwards...
