Back to the Dealer for Brake vibration

So they called me today, they can feel the vibration when applying the front brakes above 40 MPH, but... the front brake rotors are within factory allowed specifications for the rotor runout reading.

But here is what they found, that I had not had the warranty steering head bearing adjustment preformed yet. (?)

The front tire is starting to cup. (I hadn't noticed, but has been getting close to replacing within the next 3 - 4 K miles) didn't cup on the 2011 EG with the new style D408F Dunlop tires. (?)

So... maybe they can write on the repair order they feel the braking vibration, but "we" don't know how to fix this condition.

Guess I have to talk to service manager, (as if they will listen to me), ask if HD has a tech help line and ask HD what can they do to fix this issue.

Wonder what the odds are in Vegas that they really did adjust the steering head bearings?

I have been told the 14 and up don't have head adjustments, they are a sealed bearing and need to be replaced.

Well you know .....dealer.

But not sealed, just a long bolt through top to a long, internally threaded bearing support sleeve on the lower triple tree arrangement.

Except no zerk fitting.

Why could they not have caught up to using "thrust" ball bearing sets like the rest of the motorcycle manufactures, then you just torque to "X" tightness and there it is.

Not all this voodoo magic of swing the front end with or without cables attached, level or nose up or nose down, suspension loaded or unladen, how many times does it oscillate...

As long as you burn the correct incense in the holy brazier.

Has anyone attempted to cast chicken entrails to diagnose a Harley?

That's why they won't let you look into the shop at some of them.

Maybe if they let us lick their hand after?
