Looking good Frank, what speakers are you puttin on the lowers?? Got Hogtunes in mine and with the amp I can finally hear at 75mph...
We were running in 88-90F this weekend with vented lowers for the first time for me, and I feel a slight increase in heat on my legs, but from all I've read the lowers direct air to the mill. I have a Fluke infrared thermometer for work on transformers, I'll shoot the heads in the next couple weeks, but I think the mill was completely happy this weekend. Dirk |

Haven't noticed an increase in heat with mine. At least not on the oil temp, definitely holds a little more of the pipe heat behind the right side lower in traffic. But once moving if the vents are open it cools down right quick.

The vented lowers are designed to funnel air to the motor. The vents are for rider comfort only, you don't need to open them to cool the motor on hot days. Someone on one of the other forums actually tested head temperature with them on and off, and the motor stayed cooler with them on.
I pulled mine off last summer after ES, and my feet were definitely cooler. That said, all it takes is one thunderstorm to remind you why they're so nice. The big thing I notice with them is that they reflect a lot of engine noise back at me.
