Shoot some propane or ether at the intake seals. If the idle goes up, they're leakin'.
Just make sure you don't get it in the throat of the throttle body, which will get you a false positive. Brake cleaner will make it die, if you'd rather go that route.

One other thing you may wanna check. Sometimes gunk will build up on the throttle plate and the throttle body, in the area where the two parts meet. If enough crap builds up, the throttle plate won't close all the way. The computer tries to compensate, but fails to successfully do so. Idle quality will suffer, mostly for the not good. And it'll be an intermittent problem. This has happened to my '01 GMC Sierra Pickup. I'd get occasional stalling, especially when coming to a stop. I'll use carb cleaner to clean both sides of the throttle plate and the area where the throttle plate seals against the throttle body. Only takes a few minutes to do this, and the idle quality returns to normal. I've made this a once a year deal on my pickup. The reason why I thought of this is that I've got the air cleaner off of my '06 EG. There's soot like residue in the areas described above, not a lot mind you, but it's there. I used a little carb cleaner to spiff things up a bit. I haven't had an idling problem with my bike, but I think if I hadn't cleaned things up now, an idling problem may have occurred at a later date.
