Edit: UBF / 2014 FLHTK?
I'm less familiar with the touring frame models. Advantages/disadvantages of the '14 model year?

It is the Rushmore, sprinkler heads. Probably had the hose recall done already, maybe the bag quick latch recall also.

He had a brake recall. He was aware of hose issue, but reported no problems.

Advantages: More affordable than a 2015 and up. More area up front to keep bugs off you.
Disadvantages: More area up front for bugs to hit = more cleaning. Probably will make your ass look fat. In all seriousness Richard, I have not heard much grumbling about the Rushmore since the radiator/hose issues in the beginning. |

I have one and love it. Best running motor I've ever had from Milwaukee. I got one of the first ones, so I got caught in almost all of the recalls. Make sure they're all done, especially the clutch master cylinder one. The radio/GPS/CB is nice, but lacks Bluetooth to the helmet, which was a huge miss. The early models like mine came standard with the CB module. Not long after the debut CB much, but it's nice to be able to find out what's going on up ahead when traffic stops.
The frame is awesome, and the beefed up front forks make all the difference in the world. The water cooling actually does work. Most beneficial when sitting in traffic. Saddlebags and tour pak were beefed up too. I love the one handed opening lever that resembles the flusher on a toilet Hydraulic clutch takes a little getting used to, but after that it's really hard not to like it

Richard, you've been talking yourself into this for at least a year now.

Make sure to check its VIN in HD's system to verify the TSBs were done. They had, I think, one for the thermostat pipe, four TSBs on the clutch, one on the radio and two(?) on the brakes.
The LED (daymaker) lamps in 2014 had an early version that had a faulty seal and as a result the lamps (all three) suffer from fogging and can't be repaired. These were replaced under warranty with a newer version but only if the owner experienced the issue and pursued it. I don't know if they'll still warranty this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I only had 4 recalls. 2 for the clutch, 1 for the front brake, and one for the saddlebag latches.

Take it from me Richard, a bagger is sooooooooooo much more comfortable on a long haul than a Softail.
