Before you all jump in the pool together hang on......! If you have the two piece throttle body or a CV carb (ie 06 and earlier) there is no troubles....the filter will bolt up to any SE backing plate or Big Sucker backing plate. If you have the new throttle body bolt pattern you will have to buy the filter with the Exotx backing plate which I don't much care for in all honesty....so...if you want the Exotx filter to fit your Big Sucker or the SE backing plate the air filter stand offs will have to be cut down .160 shorter. The deep Exotx filter will work with the zippers long stand offs however if you add a small washer to the stand off it fits better.
I am working on Mark (CEO of Exotx) to remold the correct plate in the filter so it is a bolt on replacment just like the K&N is.......I have several Dealers here that want to sell this filter however they will not stock them until Mark gets it to be a bolt on item. I have been cutting the stand offs down but that is a pain in the butt to say the least. I'm hoping to hear from Mark at Exotx real soon. Sorry for not posting this earlier but I had no idea you guys would get all fired up to buy out the store. It might help things move a little quicker if you all contacted Exotx about this concern on their web site......lol.....I can use the help to get a fire under Marks butt.....and at the same time mention that we need a filter for the Ventilator! The filters are the same size as the Harley filters, the problem is in the plate that is molded in the filter itself.....it needs to be a offset plate not a flat plate. Doc
