Thanks guys.

Ed, you'd be surprised how low this thing sits. I have the "high" seat and I have a lot of bend at my knees when holding the bike up. With the "low" seat", I'd imagine Dana could flat-foot it.

Ricky actually did have something to do with this in a round-about sort of way. On every trip I've been on this year, I found myself saying that I missed "X" about the Adventure. After the experience in ES, I was preparing to throw a not-insubstantial amount of money and parts at the motor. Somewhere in PA last weekend it dawned on me that I was trying to make the bike something that it was never going to be.

James, the really funny thing is that I was impressed with certain aspects of the K16 when I initially rode it way back in 2011, but I wasn't smitten with it. I thought the RT was the answer with its lighter weight and Boxer motor, but I just couldn't get comfortable on it (Lord knows how you do it, you're a good 2" taller than me).

For a fleeting moment I considered getting a new WasserBoxer Adventure, but this is the first year for it, and I'm still gunshy given Helga's appetite for oil.

TOE, message received.

Tom, the FB6 is really cool-looking but it has no cruise control, no top box, and no room for my legs.

Mike, they actually do make floorboards for this bike. Dana prefers pegs, and in looking at them I'm betting I'd drag them everywhere.
