I'm riding up on Thursday evening - spending the night in Auburn. The riding into Reno by 10am. I'm not in a rush as I've been to Street Vibrations several times. Just like returning for the parties.

I'm doing 80 from the SF Bay Area... which way are you coming in?

I was at Twin Lakes last week and saw that regular unleaded was "only"
$4.09 at the Shell on the north side of town. Glad I didn't need gas.

WOW... $4.09 for a gallon of gas is on the really high side.

Now for the important stuff... did you have time to do any fishing... this is the time of year to go to the mountain lakes!!!

We didn't fish this time, hiked and relaxed. The fishing is almost always good there tho as they keep it well stocked. They raise there own fish there and you can hike by the ponds. Some big rainbows and browns. Record Ca. brown was from there. 26.5 pounds.

Yep Regular fuel is $4.09, town still thinks there is gold coming out of Bodie. I'll run up 395 to Reno and back at night, Maybe Sat and Sun. I get all my fuel in Gardnerville.

Well that sure sucked it big time this year, moving everything to Sparks.

Wonder if Reno will know where their 2nd biggest income weekend went come next year?

Somebody really fcuked that up.

Yep, walked onto Virginia St. and wondered what the heck happened, grabbed an Awful, Awful burger at the Nugget and headed over to Sparks for a couple hours, show sucked there also so we got out of town and spent Sat. and Sun. around Tahoe riding. They got a whole lot less money from me this year. Didn't even go into the Reno/Sparks casinos to gamble. Talked to a couple guys I know that stay at Circus Circus every year for the convenience of being right at the show. Nobody told them that their $200 dollar a night room(special rape rate for the show) bought them a ride to Sparks for the show. They weren't too happy, said something about never dropping a dime in a Reno casino again. If all the casinos charged those kind of prices for a room 5 miles away from the show without warning people they'll wind up costing themselves more in bad word of mouth than they made off the suckers.

I live in Sparks and let me tell you the Reno city council and business owners are pissed. The idea was to clear up the mess in downtown Reno by moving the vendors to Sparks. I think the patient died on this one.

I think the Nugget location for the vendors was a great idea. I only saw a few cops on a bikes and car in Sparks. I did see the mounted cops on horses... but they weren't causing a fuss. I was in Reno too and saw many more police officers ticketing people.

I say, move it all to Sparks and let the folks in Reno move on to whatever is more important to them.
