National Pride

If this is misplaced, I apologize, and fully understand it's removal or relocation.

I felt a feeling of pride today that damn near brought tears to my eyes. The speech I heard at noontime today brought this pride back to me, that I started losing year after year since the slick Willy administration.
Today is a very good day for America, and I hope it is the turning point that most of us have been longing for.

I have cautious optimism and ZERO trust for anything that comes out of the mouth of any politician. One thing I do know is that the entrenched executive branch bureaucracy will have to be given a stiff dose of castor oil or nothing will really change.

Ditto. I'm just happy to see D.C. outsider take over with a GOP and possible conservative majority in the Supreme Court. We were sliding into socialism. The circle needed to be blown up. The "system" was all about the "system". We'll see.

I've been saying the same for a number of years. Problem is you are asking a bunch of elites with cush job and a lot of perks (including the best medical program in the country) to pass legislation putting themselves out of a job.

Not going to hold my breath.

First full day and one thing must be said: He's not resting on his laurels or lollygagging. People will like or not like what he's doing, but he *doing* stuff.
Some will like or not like what was said, but his spokesperson spent over an hour(!) answering questions and acquitted himself well as a capable press secretary.

They aren't slacking and they aren't hiding.
Now we'll all have to just see what they can get done.
