Texas and Oklahoma Riders -- How's Your Weather
We're okay here in Central Texas.
How are you holding up? Normally we average about 4.6 inches of rain for the entire month of May. So far today we are over 3 inches and it is still raining. I think we are approaching 10 inches for the month already. We average 35.25 inches for the year. We are well ahead of the average. Trust me. Lake Belton has risen 9 feet since the beginning of May and may soon be close to capacity. My lake in the back yard is draining nicely across the sidewalk and yard and down the driveway. I call it Lake Dinero and Rio Dinero.

I saw in the paper that a big chunk of Wimberly floated away. That's where I stayed with my cousin Pam in between visits to Mount Dinero in March.

We've had more rain so far this year than we had all of last year.
My bikes are gathering dust in the garage

We were in New Braunfels for the holiday weekend. We were lucky to be able to tube the river once on Friday afternoon. The rains started on Saturday and by Sunday morning the local authorities closed the Comal river to tube traffic. The NB fire dept kept running their rubber boats up and down the river all day to keep people off the river. They were running white water raft type trips down the Guadalupe.
Needless to say, the bars and restaurants were full as they turned in to the only game in town over the weekend.

I managed to sneak in a short ride on Sunday between the deluges.
But enough already...

Possum Kingdom was down 28 feet a week ago. Now it's less than a foot and with the rain later today should be full tomorrow.

Travis is now at an astounding 77% capacity. in the last 2 or 3 weeks it has come up 37 FOOT!
The water has been down so long that a lot of people built these crazy stairs to reach the water. Hopefully no longer visible or needed.
