Being that the Sportster was the trickle down bike...
How long before the 1200 is replaced with the 96" TC? Maybe that'll replace the 883 and the 1200 will become the 103...just pondering seeing the current lineup.

The Dyna was the big boy grown up sportster, with the big twin engine.
Larger frame. More load capacity. The powerplant from the FL line. Should have brought out a rocker softail if they really wanted to increase sales...

Maybe never.
It is still the entry point for a lot of riders no matter what MOCO decides to do.

There's a web page somewhere about a guy who put TC88 guts and top end on a Sporty. He had to cut big reliefs in the pistons to keep them from slamming into each other at the bottom pf the stroke. Making a purpose-built bigger engine and trying to retain the generally diminutive Sportster chassis size would likely result in a compromise called a Dyna.

Because MOCO was long overdue to spend way to much building a butt ugly model that no one wanted to ride........
