Finally - 117 breathes

Well, it's been a long time and there have been a few twists and turns, but finally I'll be putting break-in miles on this weekend. Maybe get in a doof ride yet this year.

Can't say enough good things about Justin (hdrydr) and Phil at Torque Monster Motorworks. Couple smart, experienced, "good-guys" and masters at what they do - highly recommend.

Seated the rings and did a break-in on the dyno and some pulls to dial-in the carb a bit, then will be finishing up sometime today.

WOT, the clutch can't hold it and it slips all the way to 4300. That's with an Energy-1 Extra plate + E-1 spring + VPC 84. Motor blew right through it. Still made 130/121. Will get back on the dyno after the weekend to install a stronger clutch, dial in the carb and tweak timing. Thinking I'll go with the Bandit Super Clutch.

Will be tweaking for a while, and trying different things. Stuck with the belt and will see how it holds. Ditto 3.37 and I'll see how I like it. Might just go chain over the winter regardless and play more with gearing. Have a few other things I'll be experimenting with but looking for a reliable, 10-sec street bike when all is said and done. Want that S&S 10-sec Club T-shirt.

Think so if I can ride it well enough. Going to be a learning experience.

Did a little lightening and few other odds and ends, lost 30 lbs off my formerly-pudgy azz too... Ran mid 11s pretty consistently with the 98. We'll be finding out.

Well, as of this a.m., up to 132 T and 129 HP, SAE.

Clutch still slipping, but have a new one on the way.

Carb not dialed in -wants more fuel and largest main isn't enough - so will be drilling main jets.

Thunderjet and air bleed still not dialed in either and need more, so had to order some larger sizes.

Still picking up this afternoon to put some easy miles on it and change the oil again. Pulled out a lot of timing to eliminate a ping and be safe. Won't be going WOT anyway. New clutch, carb and timing dial-in next week.

Hope I'm not boring anyone, but this is interesting to me and I know a few others have the HP bug too. I'll be curious to see the effect of the clutch on the dyno, as well as on the mid-range and top with properly jetted and dialed in T-jet.

Appreciate everyone's well-wishes and I'll post up results as they unfold.

Yes, it's an ebay special G. Was NIB from a Big Dog IIRC. Bored and with a T-jet.

A chain is definitely in the near future. Spooled it once to 5K yesterday through 3rd, 4th and 5th. Pulls hard and figured then and there best to get a chain.
