If you don't end up with a new scoot (Treat Yourself Man!!) I was thinking that I could pull the tape style cruise from my 'Mule (03) It will never need it again.... you would just need to sort out the hand controls.

Dirk, please explain. What is a "tape style"?

I'm trying to see if I can gather the requisite OEM parts to put the factory cruise on mine.

I will admit that I have given a lot (too much) of thought to getting a different bike; but a new monthly note just doesn't hold much appeal for me right now.

Now if I can just STOP looking at all the shiny bikes.

I've got a bid on the heat demons as well as the bars. Now I just need patience.

Have any of you installed the Heat Demons on a Wild1 chubby bar?
I'm certain I'm missing something here. They sell both 1" and 1-1/4" versions. I expect that the difference would be the radius inside the clamp, but on closer examination, it appears that the clamp is on the stepped (1") portion even on the Chubby anyway. Guess I'll have to give 'em a call.
I have the 16" wild one bars. They are 1 - 1/4, and they step down to 1" for the clamp.

I called SymTec(?) the Heat demon folks and the guy explained that the clamphalf that they supply (which includes the button) fits the 1" portion of the bar but the button area extends over the 1-1/4" part so it's made differently.
The best part? He said if I need the other one to just send in the clamp part only and he'd send me the other size. Ya caint beat that!

Watch out in the fact that you may need to ream out the bar. The heat demons need .875" ID and most aftermarket bars in 1 1/4" are .835" ID you have to ream em out 6". I'm getting my WO 612's measured right now as I'm doing the same....
I will get you the specs on my factory '03 cruise.

Check this out, the cruise module is on page 6, but it's all the stuff to do a factory cruise on our older scoots....
