Replace rear pads without removing the wheel?
Has anyone done this? It's a Road King, and I don't really feel like pulling the wheel off if I don't have to. Seems I could just pull the pins and slide the old ones out, but sliding the new ones in might be somewhat of a challenge.

I tried, got pissed and pulled the wheel. Had issues compressing the pistons without dicking them up.

I've done it on my 09 Classic. Remove the caliper, compress the pistons with the old pads in place, put in new pads, and reassemble.

I've done it on my Dyna without removing the Caliper.

As long as the rotor isn't dicked up by being glazed or with ridges, it probably isn't any worse than a car, I would think. Would have to turn the rotors otherwise.

IIRC, the procedure is in the manual for doing it that way on my '05, at least...

Use either wood or composite shims.
