Areas of Joshua trees and sometimes wild donkeys.
At the top is the Bristle cone tree forest area. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/inyo/...telprdb5129900 This trip at first we thought we saw a hiker in the distance on the shoulder, then appeared to be a donkey, but was a range bull walking along the shoulder of the road. Things that you see at first then change in your minds eye (?) as you get closer. And we went real slow on the far side of the road in the opposing traffic direction lane.
