Yes RevPerf made them, but Steve at GMR did quite a few builds that didn't seemt to cut the mustard. Both with and with out the nikasil IIRC. Whew....all that happened before '08 (everything happened in '08).

I'm guessing that either they have short memories, or Google is broken in Texas.

We have a lot of bearing housing that use the same concept. Catch what splashes and slings and channel it to the important spots. So the concept is sound.
The sliding action on those ramps is why I like Formula+ as a minimum (it is an older spec gear lube additized for sliding wear conditions) or preferably, a regular GL-4 gear lube. Lately, I had to stick with Formulas+ because everything seems to have friction modifiers in it all of a sudden. If I come up with a GL-4 or 5 without those, I will go back to it. Polar molecules are your friend.

I just tore open my 06' for a stator replacement Saturday evening. Which by the way wasn't the source of my non charging issue, despite my testing and re testing over and over like some OCDude. I hate to throw good money after bad. But it is what it is, and I'm screwed till I re diagnose or just replace the regulator.
My Compensator had very little wear on the contact surfaces so all I did was to clean it up and flush a bit of crud out of the outer (spring) or ring pack. It rode smooth and quiet all the way home from my friends shop. I have 70K on my scoot including the timing chain tensioners. The stator is the first real failure I've had. And it looks like my old stator might still be good. In recent talks with my factory trained HD guy, he has stated more than once that I got the last good year Harley made. He said they all went south in 07' up. The latest models cannot be worked on without hooking it up to a computer. This will undoubtedly lead to more reliance on the dealer for servicing your late model scoot, as they will be protecting their investment in service. I am tempted to sell mine and get an older carbed one. aka BOB

The '06 Baggers had a regulator recall, my '06 RG had it done. 91K miles on it on trade in, never had a stator problem.
Ran 10W-40, HD syn 3, ATF in the primary, all seemed to work quite well. Replaced the chain tensioner shoe around 70K miles because of overactive imagination. It was OK.

Oh, now I remember the PO mentioning he didn't make the claim as he had no issues with the regulator. He owned it for two years and 12K. I'm all but certain at seven years and 70+K, I will not be able to make the claim.
I will have to check with the dealer before I buy a new one. Still not a bad lifespan for the original I guess. Tom, I will be breaking into the right side soon to check my tensioners, and will have parts at the ready in case I need to replace them. Likely but I have ridden this bike real easy throughout the last four plus years of my ownership. At the moment, I'm thinking I will utilize the stock tensioners, new torrington carrier bearing and open up the top to keep it on the cheap. I'm thinking no more than $200.-300. in parts if I go this way. I will be on the lookout for renting or borrowing the puller necessary to pull this off. aka BOB
