downloaded windows 10 .....
..... and things move a lot faster which is a good thing. However,, I have Google Chrome as my default browser but when I click on a link in my email it automatically goes to Edge, the MS browser that replaces IE. How do I get it to go to Chrome?

Easy, just click your heels together three times, and say...

You have to reset your defaults for all of the actions.

I just now reluctantly upgraded my Win8 computer to Win-10.
Actually, it's quite nice. For some reason, I think that the display looks better. May just be me, but seems more crisp and brighter. Yeah, it's probably my imagination. Mine came up with Edge as the default browser, too. But I started Chrome and the first thing that Chrome brought up was "Do you want to set Chrome as your default Internet browser?" YES. And it did it. Then, I removed the "e" from the toolbar. Seems faster. Has some neat toolbar buttons, especially "Cortina" which I have minimized to a little circle. In Cortina resides Task Manager . . . something I use quite often. I think I'm going to like Win-10 just fine. Ken |

I'm running a Windows 7 machine. I keep getting a pop-up invitation to upgrade to Windows 10....free!
I'm skeered! Should I, or should I leave well enough alone? I am having NO problems with my Windows 7 machine.

As I understand it, Win-8 was Microsoft's first attempt in making an operating system that would work on desktops, pads, and laptops. It works fine, but is horribly UNintuitive. Ease of operation kind of stinks. Things that you need are hidden and one has to search for them. So they decided to program a new operating system that is easier to use. In the process, they included a bunch of new features to make life more fun. So far, I like it just fine. I now have 2 hours of experience with it. |

Data miner, resources hog, etc. All stuff I'm skeered about.
I'm having zero issues with 7. I think I'll leave things just the way they are. Thanks for the responses! (Of course, I didn't mean to hijack a thread!! ;-))

In it's default configuration, yes. Turn all the intrusive crap off and it's fine.
http://www.windowscentral.com/how-tu...ing-windows-10 I can live without Cortana. Just the name itself sounds like a Russian mail order bride I hope Bill Gates can live without knowing which porn sites I visit regularly. Oh, crap, did I just post that on the internet?

I did the upgrade from 7. There are things about 7 I preferred, but someday they'll end support for it like they did with XP (which I still have on 3 machines). I figure I may as well learn the new OS.
